7 Months...

Drew is just a little over 7 months old now. Time goes by so fast. He started crawling last week with the army crawl and now 3 days ago he is full blown crawling around the house. I still need to get 3 baby gates, so im chasing him around right now, getting him out of the hallway, and kitchen...He is trying to get up the 1 stiep we have into the dining room/kitchen. But when he is on the step, already, he is wanting in the kitchen, so hence a gate there, lol.

He is such a happy baby, he is only fussy when he is tired or the extreme...Over-tired.

More new things...

Well we got a call from Steve's Stepmom Dee, and she let us know that their dad is getting out of the hospital tomorrow. That is awesome. I am so happy!!!

We also finally got rid of the cavalier. Steve tried to get to the junkyard himself, but didnt even get halfway there and the cavalier finally gave its last breath, lol, and finally died and refused to turn back on. So he called the junkyard and they promptly came and picked up the car and gave Steve a check for $225.00. That was way more then the other place was going to give us.

We went to Babies R Us today and picked out Drew's new car seat. We picked the Evenflo Titan Elite Convertible car seat. We didn't get to test Drew out in it, but I know he is going to love it. Steve actually found another that had way more "cushion" as he put it, and wanted to get it instead. We didn't buy it just yet, but soon after we get caught up on a few things. Drew still has time in his Infant seat. We did get a car seat mirror for him. We didn't install it in the car yet, later this week we will, but I'm sure he will love it as well. Also bought a new and improved pacifier, lol. Well its a teething version of her current pacifier.

A very uneventful day.

What a week....

We have had quite a long week....

Monday started as any other day. Wake up with Drew, get coffee and read email. Feed Drew. But Steve's father called wanting to talk to Brian and have him take him to the hospital. He was having chest pains. So I take Brian over there. And go home, Steve is really sick so he is on the couch all day. I left the house to allow Steve to rest and me and Drew went to the hospital to check on Brian and their dad. He told me he had a heart attack on Friday, but didn't tell anyone because he didn't want to ruin everyone's holiday and he wanted to enjoy the 4th with his family. I was upset, but there's not much you can do about it, so there's no point in being mad.

Every time someone came in the room, he made a point to say that I was holding his grandson and they made a point to tell him that his grandson is the reason he should have came to the hospital on Friday when he had the heart attack, so he can watch him grow up. They take him for an angioplasty, to see how much damage is done to his heart and see what the "plan of Action is". Their step mom shows up with her mom, and we all wait together. I called Steve to give him an update on his dad, and to remind him to take his medicine and call about the job he was supposed to check up on. The doctor's come out to tell us that he has heart damage, 1 artery is 60%, and 2 are 40%. So far they recommend an immediate Triple by-pass and when they get in there, they will determine if he needs a Quadruple by-pass. He will be going to CCU (critical care unit) for a day, then will be moved to the Cardiac unit until surgery. Me and Brian went in to see him first, while Dee (their step mom) stayed with her mom and Drew. Dad asked what they said and no one new how to tell him, so i told him, he needed a triple maybe a quadruple bypass ASAP. he was saddened, but its what needs to be done. We told him everything would be ok, because the doctor gives him great odds.

We left shortly after, as Drew was tired, and i needed to get back to Steve. We stopped at CVS for some odds and ends. And as we left the car stalled, and its been doing that lately, so at first it was no big deal. But it was just acting really weird and stalling shortly after we would get it started. We got it to the gas station and waited it out. Then left and made it to the store near the house and it stalled again. Waited some more and actually made it home. And to the looks of it, the car blew the head gasket and lost 1 cylinder. Steve looked at it Tuesday as he needed to get to Sebastian to do a drug test for a job....Well he wasn't taking the car anywhere as it just kept stalling. Steve knew the car was shot and we were screwed. I told him thank god i didn't have to work on Wednesday.

I called my mom and told her what happened, and she said, you worry about getting Steve to Sebastian for the drug test and I will work on the car issue and we left it at that. Steve found out later that day that he didn't need to goto Sebastian for the drug test, the guy will just fax the paperwork to the clinic and Steve could walk there or find a ride there on Wednesday.

Wednesday he left for the clinic, and mom called and said she is still working on the car issue and may have found a solution, not sure yet, just wanted to update me. Steve came home and told me that the machine that was supposed to tell him if he passed in 15 minutes broke when they turned it on and it would take 3-5 days to get the results....GRRRR...

Thursday their dad had his Triple bypass, but ended up being a Quadruple bypass. He went in at 7:30am and was done by 1pm. He will be in CCU till Monday.

On Friday. Steve went and took the yard stuff back to the landlords and shortly after he came home. My parents showed up with a watermelon, lol. They came for a visit. Which was a surprise. My dad threw a set of keys at us, and told us to look outside and downstairs. And we saw a 2001 Dodge Stratus outside for us. They bought us a car, knowing that Steve would hopefully be getting this job, and we need a car because of Drew. I didn't know how to thank them enough. Me and my mom went to get it registered. It is such a nice car. I love it so much. My sister came over with her youngest, Zachary. Then Steve's aunt called and said they were in town because of his dad's surgery. They wanted to stop by and visit. We had such a houseful. As my parents and my sister were leaving to visit our grandmother, their aunt, uncle and cousin show up. We all visit and talk. They leave later, and our cable and internet go out. Steve and Brian left in the new car to see what the junkyards would give us for the cavalier. And supposedly someone was coming for the car and they came home and cleaned it out and we installed Drew's car seat into the Dodge. And Steve moved the cavalier to another spot so the wrecker can get to it easier, and i moved the dodge under the carport. They never came for the car. But i went to comcast and paid the balance on the account and everything was turned back on.

And another set of good news is that inbetween all the families being here, Steve got a call from the job he was trying to get and he is hired and he starts on Tuesday....

We did go back to the hospital later to visit Dad. Steve still hasn't gone into CCU because it is like ICU and Steve still feels under the weather and cant stand the thought of his dad catching his cold right now while he is trying to heal.

Its just really been a long week...But Things are finally starting to look up....

Here are some pictures to enjoy...

4th Of July

We decided not to take Drew to see the fireworks at Memorial Island. We did fireworks at home. Bought some fireworks at the store and put drew down early for a nap, but fireworks from other people woke him up

Around 8:45pm after dinner, We went outside and did fireworks. Steve and his brother Brian set off different types in the driveway, while me and Drew watched...Drew didn't do much of anything for a reaction, lol. He stared in amazement...lol...At one point he did laugh and giggle, then stopped.

Bananas!!!!!!

While we were on Publix today, I asked Steve how he felt about getting Drew one of the Mesh Food Feeders. And we toyed with the idea while we were at the deli counter. We got to the baby aisle and he decided we would try it and see how he did when we got home.

Well needless to say he loved it. We only ended up doing 1 piece with Drew because Mommy ate the rest of the banana because it was so good, lol...

6 month Stats for Andrew

Andrew weighs 15.10lbs. He is 26.75inches long. He is growing well on his own curve. He is so happy in the mornings. Just smiles away...

We were having an issue with him being on the Similac Isomil Advance. He was basciall rejecting the bottle. He would fuss and cry through the entire bottle. He was eating 24-30oz per day, then he went down to trying to get in 15oz. We tried Similac Alimentum and well it did solve the eating issue, he was eating like a champ, but he gave him horrible diarrhea. So we waited till his 6 month appt the following Thursday and we talked with his pediatrician and she recommended Enfamil Gentlease and gave us a sample can to try and wait it out and if we felt the issue was resolved we could call in for the WIC change form. We did the change and he is doing so much better. Not only is he eating. He is eating more often too. So that is wonderful.

He does get a variety of solid foods. He has been eating cereal since he was about 3 months old. He doesnt care for rice, but loves oatmeal. His favorite veggies are Green Beans, and Butternut Squash. His favorite fruits are Applesauce, Pears and Bananas. We are slowly starting Stage 2, but he still gets lots of stage 1's still.

He has cut his 2nd tooth. This one was a bit rougher then the 1st tooth. He was running a slight fever with a runny nose this weekend. He seems to be better today.

He is such a joy everyday...

Learning to Crawl

Last Saturday, Drew decided he wanted to learn how to crawl. And now he loves to get on the floor and get up on his hands and knees.

Getting up on his hands and knees

We are so proud, but sad at the same time. He is growing so fast. Sometimes I miss him being all teeny tiny. But then again, I love him now because i can interact with him more, and he plays with me as well as me playing with him.

6 months, Brings so much more

Andrew is growing so fast. And learning so many new things.

Drew turned 6 months old on June 18th, 2009. For is "6 months Birthday" we went to Sears and had his pictures done...They came out so awesome. It was hard to choose which ones we were getting. But luckily the package we chose came with a photo cd that contained all the pictures from the session, regardless of if we bought prints or not.

Here are some of the pictures we had taken
